Forest Floor Hydrosol

Our wild-crafted Forest Floor Hydrosol is sweetly resinous with pine, lemon, and butterscotch notes. Harvested in the pristine forest of Northern Washington, this hydrosol has a grounding and calming effect and is suitable for oily, acne-prone, congested, or dull skin types. 

Pine contains several skin-beneficial constituents, including alpha-pinene, a highly effective terpene that enhances skin permeability. This hydrosol is an ideal complement to our tallow creams, allowing the full healing power of plant medicines to penetrate the skin. Pine needles also have a high concentration of vitamin C, a potent antioxidant that protects the skin from free radical damage and promotes collagen synthesis, essential for maintaining healthy, youthful-looking skin. It also provides complete vitamin C complex, not just isolated ascorbic acid.

Douglas fir is rich in flavonoids as well. These powerful antioxidants shield the skin from damage caused by pollution and UV radiation. Flavonoids also possess anti-inflammatory properties, effectively calming red and inflamed skin. Douglas fir contains monocyclic and bicyclic structures, which act as antioxidants and aid in cellular repair, further enhancing the benefits of this hydrosol for the skin.
